Welcome to my 2021 Swim for MS!
It's that time again! Hello my name is Paul Ojakian and welcome to my 2021 Swim for MS! So let's put 2020 behind us and spring into action swimming for MS in 2021. I have been swimming for MS since 2015 and will continue for as long as is humanly possible. The weather has finally been cooperating so it's time to start my swim. Not that it matters but I swim is all kinds of weather so a little or alot or rain is just fine as long a there is no thunder and lightning.
A brief history of MS and the Ojakian family. In 1974 my father Eugene was diagnosed with MS. None of us knew exactly what this MS was. Then in 1975 I had my first exacerbation but was misdiagnosed with Gulium Bourret later to be diagnosed with MS in 1990. Two years later my sister Cathy was diagnosed. My sister Cathy Passed suddenly on june 17th due to cardiac arrest It was a a shock to us all and she will be remembered for the loving mother she was and most importantly she will be remembered for how she fought the fight against MS I told her many times that I would trade places with he and I meant it
At this point.we were all wondering what was going on with this thing called MS and the Ojakian family. My dad passed away in June of 2013 after living with the disease for 50 years(God Bless my Mom)! I am trying to keep myself in as good as shape as possible by swimming each day using my arms only. I swim a 1/2 mile each day. You never know when a cure is just around the corner.
Please consider making a donation to help combat this disease that affects mine and so many families!
Thank you and as always keep moving in what ever capacity possible.
Thank you,
Paul Ojakian
