Dopey For Daddy

11 years ago my dad, Dan Scharett, medically retired from General Motors. His MS had gotten to the point he could no longer go to work. Today after a 25 year struggle, he is wheelchair bound and unable to even stand. Everyday he struggles and yet everyday he laughs and jokes about how "Dan-good" his life is. In his honor I will be running 48.6 miles with team MSAA to raise money for MS sufferers. The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America is an amazing foundation that directly helps by providing support and  adaptive equipment to MS sufferers.

I have pledged to raise $4500 for the cause and in return, my Dad will be able to stay in a handicapped accessible hotel at Disney to be able to be at the Run Disney Dopey challenge, when I cross the finish line.

Every day, people with MS have no idea what to expect. They may face unbearable fatigue, balance and mobility issues, numbness, difficulty walking, heat sensitivity, blurry vision, or any others in a long list of symptoms. No one knows what causes MS and there is no cure. But with your support, there is help – and hope – for anyone affected by MS.

MSAA helps tens of thousands of individuals with MS, their families and their care partners each year by providing free, vital programs and services such as: a toll-free Helpline; award-winning publications including a magazine, The Motivator; dynamic website featuring educational videos and research updates; S.E.A.R.C.H.™ program to assist the MS community with learning about different treatment choices; a mobile phone app, My MS Manager™; a resource database, My MS Resource Locator®; equipment distribution; educational programs and activities; MRI funding; and more.

Your support helps make the free programs and services MSAA offers possible.  Please consider contributing to my fundraising goal!
