Welcome to my Swim for MS!
Hello everyone! I hope this finds you well and looking foward to spring which is already here in California. The weather has been absolutely beautiful with daytime temps reaching the upper sixties to the low 70's. No winter rain here yet at all which is scarey as proof of the wild fires we just had.
While I swim every day to keep myself fit in case of a cure this year I am putting a team together to make more of a mark in the fight against this terrible disease. People that I swim with daily are able to swim with a purpose now and help their fellow mankind. We are called The Oakmont East Rec Swimmers.
A brief history of MS and the Ojakian family. In 1975 my father, Eugene Ojakian was diagnosed with MS. None of us knew exactly what this MS was. Then in 1975 I had my first exaserbation but was misdiagnosed with Guillium Bourret later to be diagnosed in 1990 with MS. Two years later my sister Cathy was diagnosed. We were all wondering what was going on with this thing called MS. My dad passed away in Juneof 2013 after living 50 years with this disease. Now my sister is left to take care of herself which she can not do. She has had the worst time with MS. My MS is like my dads and I am trying to keep myself in as good as shape as possible by swimming each day using my arms only. I swim a 1/2 mile each day.
So please makea donation and help support those who can not help themselves.
Remember the swim takes place during the month of March so you can start making donations March 1st.
Thank you and as always keep moving in what ever capacity possible.
