I am doing a DIY fundraiser with the intention of raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.
My mom, Shana Stern, has been living with & battling MS since 1999. Over the years I’ve seen her struggle with severe fatigue, brain-fog, nerve pain, numbness & vision issues. Many people don’t realize just how unpredictable this disease is day-to-day. They also don’t realize how having an “invisible illness” the way my mom’s is - can impact how people react to her disease. More often than not, people don’t believe she has the problems she has. As her main care-giver since I was 12, I know how frustrating & painful this can be for my mom. Just because she “looks fine”, doesn’t mean she is.
By doing this Run for MS fundraiser, I hope to help bring awareness to this issue.
MSAA does so much for individuals with MS, their families & their care partners each year by providing a wide selection of services like MRI funding, equipment distribution, a helpline, The Motivatoe Magazine, apps & educational programs and activities. They also run an amazing Artists with MS page each year, featuring the art of individuals with MS - a program my mom has had the honor of being a part of since 2013.
I hope you will consider contributing to my fundraising goal and help improve lives today! All money goes directly to MSAA & is tax deductible. I will be running for one minute for each dollar donated. Even a five dollar donation can make a difference!!
