How to Continue Your Swim for MS Challenge after Summer
If you don’t live somewhere that is warm all year-round, swimming outside is not ideal in the fall or winter. We love to hear about all of the creative ways our swimmers have participated in Swim for MS, even when the temperature outside is below freezing! Here are some tips on how you can make your challenge work during the chillier months.
- Get the Swim Team Involved! – High school and college swim seasons are usually in the winter. If you are not on the swim team yourself, suggest that the team get on board with your Swim for MS challenge and host your event during one of their practices!
- Find an Indoor Pool in Your Community – Most communities have an indoor pool close by at a gym, college campus, or community center. Work with the pool location’s staff to set-up your Swim for MS challenge at their location. You can hang flyers if they have an events board and try to get as many people in your community involved!
- Start Your Fundraising in the Fall – If you cannot find access to an indoor pool in your community, get a jumpstart on fundraising and plan to do the actual swimming as soon as the warm weather hits. That way, you can maximize donations and get as many people as possible on board!
